Nothing like visiting a typical Spanish market, Mercadillo in Spanish, while on vacation. We have visited quite a few of these markets and can already recommend these locations, some larger and/or busier than others but all fun to visit. Have fun and Viva Espana....

Tips and tricks at the Mercadillos in Spain

Before you head to the markets in Spain, we give you some useful tips and tricks. By following these tips, you will get the maximum enjoyment out of it and be sure to go back next time.

1. Choose your own fruit, if you don't do this they will give you the fruit themselves and you have a chance of missing out on the best pieces
2. Always check that what you pay is actually the quantity and correct price displayed
3. Pickpockets are everywhere, be on your guard!!!
4. Enjoy the bustle and chaos, this is typical here in Spain
5. Don't lose sight of the bargains, there are many to do....
6. Know that there are many fakes in circulation, don't get caught!
